International Conference on Inclusive Insurance
Formerly known as the International Microinsurance Conference (IMC), this is the event in the inclusive insurance calendar and has taken place every year since 2005, bringing together hundreds of delegates and speakers from around the world. The conference is co-organised with the Munich Re Foundation and local partners and is a catalyst for the growth of inclusive insurance markets in the host country.
ICII 2025
The International Conference on Inclusive Insurance 2025 will take place from 13-17 October 2025 in Quito, Ecuador . Experts from 50+ countries will discuss and identify ways of accelerating growth and economic viability in inclusive insurance for emerging markets. The conference will be hosted by the Federación Ecuatoriana de Empresas de Seguros (FEDESEG), the Junta de Política y Regulación Financiera (JPRF) and the Superintendencia de Compañías, Valores y Seguros in cooperation with Munich Re Foundation and the Microinsurance Network.
Call for proposals
We invite you to submit proposals for the conference, which will address current and emerging trends in the sector. Topics for submissions include:
- Business models for inclusive insurance: Success stories and lessons learned closing the insurance gap and increasing insurance outreach
- Digital solutions for inclusive insurance
- New inclusive insurance products or partnerships…
… in the fields of health or hospital cash
… in the fields of funeral insurance or family financial support covers after breadwinner death
… in the field of (micro) pensions. - The role and demand of microfinance institutions and clients for the provision of affordable risk management services
- Coping with climate and disaster risks
- Effective approaches to understanding demand and customer needs – cases from mutuals and commercial insurers
- Enabling (regulatory) environment
- Impactful donor interventions
- Gender-sensitive inclusive insurance
- Consumer education: build capacities of people, societies and institutions
- Learnings from scientific research

Rapporteur applications
Join ICII 2025 as a volunteer rapporteur! As part of the rapporteur team, you will assist the editor of the conference report and will benefit from a waived participation fee for the conference.
Field trip
Organisations are invited to host a field trip during the ICII 2025. This is a unique opportunity to showcase local initiatives and share experiences with conference attendees.

ICII 2024
The International Conference on Inclusive Insurance (ICII) 2024 took place from 21-25 October 2024 and was hosted by the Nepal Insurance Association, Life Insurance Association Nepal, Nepal Microinsurance Association and the Nepal Insurance Authority in cooperation with the Munich Re Foundation and the Microinsurance Network.
