Resilience to shocks a priority: IFAD and WFP weigh in on NIger

With close to six million people estimated to be food insecure during the current lean season, the heads of Network members the World Food Programme (WFP), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), as well as the Food and Agriculture Oranisation of the United Nations (FAO), pledged to increase support for regional efforts, during a vist to Niger. They stressed that addressing the critical food and nutrition security situation in the Sahel was of critical importance.
