In 2017, the Microinsurance Network members, a diverse group of insurance professionals, MSME representatives, and economic development experts found themselves discussing the challenges faced by smaller businesses in emerging markets. During the discussions, a common theme emerged: the vulnerability of MSMEs to specific economic and environmental risks and the lack of appropriate insurance solutions to tackle these challenges.
