GFIA and Microinsurance Network collaborate on global agendas

Friday, July 31, 2015

On the 29th of July, Véronique Faber, Executive Director of the Microinsurance Network, and Thomas Loster, Chairman of the Munich Re Foundation, were invited by G20, the Insurance Association of Turkey, and GFIA, to talk about the role of microinsurance in achieving the G20 goals at the G20-IAT-GFIA conference on "Insurance and the G20 agenda" in Istanbul.

Subsequently, Chairman of the Global Federation of Insurance Associations (GFIA), Governor Dirk Kempthorne, wrote in the GFIA Chairman’s Newsletter that “…outreach to groups like the Microinsurance Network is critical to demonstrating to the G20 and other global policy setters that our (insurance) industry can and should continue to be a partner to global policy makers in solving the problems faced by our current and future customers”, highlighting the role the Microinsurance Network has to play in ensuring the importance of microinsurance is recognised in the agenda at global forums.
