This hypothetical pricing model has been produced by the UK Actuarial Profession Microinsurance Working Party as a learning aid in the development of pricing techniques. The module consists of a number of sheets, each of which address certain aspects of actuarial calculations for life microinsurance. The toolkit consists of hypothetical pricing calculations that can assist users of the toolkit in understanding key pricing principles. It is therefore not indended as a complete pricing model.
The purpose of this toolkit is to promote the understanding of the various options for managing risk, including both protective steps taken in anticipation of a crisis and reactive measures taken after the fact.
This toolkit provides practical advice to anyone involved in, or who is interested in becoming involved in, performance-based contracting of health services with nonstate providers in the context of developing countries
