Thursday, March 8, 2018

As the world celebrates International Women's Day today, Kashf Foundation in Pakistan provides a shining example of working towards promoting health microinsurance to low-income households, with a particular focus on women.

At the close of 2017, over 1.4 million individuals were enrolled in Kashf’s micro-health insurance, with more than 69% of the number of claims processed and 71% of the total claims value coming from women.

These are promising trends and further research has shown that for most women this was the first time they had accessed formal health care to take care of primary health issues.
