The Microinsurance Network believes that the exchange of microinsurance knowledge and expertise is the driving force behind the effective and sustainable development of the microinsurance sector. To this end, the Network organises, in collaboration with its members and partners, focused and content-driven regional workshops which facilitate peer-to-peer learning and the exchange of knowledge and expertise amongst key stakeholders in the field.
Our next workshop will take place on 24-25 March in Manila, Philippines on the topic of "Building resilience through Climate Risk Insurance for MSMEs". The workshop will be organised by the MiN in partnership with the MEFIN Network and GIZ RFPI Asia, and will be hosted by Pioneer.
If you are interested in partnering with the Network to organise a regional workshop, and/or have a topic that you would like to propose for a future event, please don't hesitate to get in touch with the Network Executive Team.
In 2018, the MiN organised two such workshops. In partnership with the Pakistan Microfinance Network (PMN) in March, a two-day event was held in Lahore, Pakistan. In May two one-day training workshops were organised in Dakar, Senegal and Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, with support from ADA, the ILO's Impact Insurance Facility and PlaNet Guarantee.
The first of these workshops was held in September 2016 on the topic of "Optimising distribution in the low-cost insurance environment" in Johannesburg, South Africa in partnership with Hollard and FSDA.
