New name for microinsurance consortium and venture incubator

The Microinsurance Consortium has named its microinsurance venture incubator (MVI), which is aimed at extending insurance protection, Blue Marble Microinsurance.

The consortium announced the formation of the MVI in Davos, Switzerland on January 22, 2015.

The Actuary will be responsible for supporting quantitative analytics and in particular actuarial analysis for the design and pricing of new insurance products and the performance of existing products. The role may also include project based work for weather index insurance. This will include management of databases for MicroEnsure to track product performance and future pricing. The actuary will need to be able to interact internally with country based teams as well as with the head office staff and external insurance / reinsurance partners.

UNDP confirms importance of microinsurance in new development agenda

The Microinsurance Network's development coordinator Jenny Nasr attended some of the panel sessions at the OECD Forum in Paris last week, where heated discussions took place around climate change, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and tackling inequality.
There was unanimous recognition at the Forum that the key events that will take place in the coming months will be a unique opportunity to put the world on an “inclusive and sustainable course”.

Regulation, climate change and long-term investments in infrastructure hot topics at Insurance Europe's 7th International Conference

The Microinsurance Network supported Insurance Europe's 7th International Conference in Luxembourg this week.
