Landscape 2020: call for in-country consultants

The Landscape Studies and the data underpinning the World Map of Microinsurance (WMM) provide a unique benchmark for tracking the development of the microinsurance sector. Access to data generates market knowledge and development, furthers best practice and leads to better products and services. To support the development of the sector, viable and accessible data is needed. The Landscape Studies address this need by supporting regional studies and an online database. The 2020 Landscape of Microinsurance Study covers 30 countries, of which 12 are in Africa, 10 are in Emerging Asia and 8 are in Latin America (including the Caribbean).

We are urgently seeking in-country consultants to support primary data collection in the following countries:

Africa: Côte d’Ivoire | Egypt | Ghana | Kenya | Tanzania

Emerging Asia: Bangladesh | Indonesia | Pakistan | Philippines | Thailand | Vietnam

Latin America: Argentina | Bolivia | Brazil | Chile | Colombia | Mexico | Peru

Scope of work

Liaise with identified providers of inclusive insurance to complete our 2020 questionnaire. Please note that in many cases this will require contacting the respondents several times. The work will take place in April, May and June 2020. Remuneration is on a lump sum basis that takes the level of effort required into account.

Recommended skills and experience

·       Familiarity with microinsurance concepts

·       Existing relationships within national insurance ecosystem

·       Sufficiently proficient in Excel (for data entry)

·       Good interpersonal skills

·       Self-motivated, proactive and organised

·       Attention to detail

·       Good internet connection

·       Reliable

This opportunity is particularly suitable for actuaries or similar, or students in finance, economics, or a related field with the ability to conduct interviews. Under the current circumstances, we recommend telephone interviews.
