The International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) and the Microinsurance Network will organise the 1st Consultative Forum on Business models, distribution and their regulatory implications, 12 November 2013, in Jakarta, Indonesia at the 9th International Microinsurance Conference 2013.
This forum will make use of its potential at the intersection between regulators and supervisors, and practitioners, academics and other Microinsurance Network members. The Forum will focus on topics and strategies connecting regulation, supervision and policy, and industry action. The ensuing discussions present opportunities for feedback and guidance to each stakeholder group.
Senior supervisors and leading microinsurance experts will present lessons and analyse the different regulatory as well as operational aspects of various initiatives underway for improving financial access around the world. Supervisors will also share their recent experiences on how policy and regulatory challenges to stimulate insurance market development can be addressed. We will present the results of a synthesis project on “Business models, distribution and regulatory implications” that provides insights into business models and regulatory approaches across the globe. These topics will also guide the expert dialogue between supervisors and industry in the following panel and plenary discussions.
The Consultative Forum is organised in collaboration with a2ii and with the support of GIZ, BMZ and Munich Re Foundation.
