The Universidad Internacional de Andalucia (UNIA) is organising an international conference on "Risk and the Insurance Business in History" in Seville, Spain from 11-14 June 2019. The congress will bring together world-leading experts on the history of risk and insurance, and which will embrace the broadest range of approaches, methodologies and chronologies, from its medieval origins to the most recent developments in the industry.
One of the sessions will be on "History (and the Future) of Microinsurance".and will be hosted by James Jones, Director of the Katie School of Insurance at Illinois State University in the United States.
The Katie School has launched a call for papers for presentation at the session, which closes 31 March 2018. They will then analyse submissions, before taking the summer to prepare the session more formally.
