Microinsurance Network: Experts take stock of the sector

Thursday, June 18, 2015

Microinsurance experts from the Microinsurance Network will gather in Königstein, Germany this June 23-24 to take stock of the current state of microinsurance and set priorities for the coming years, balancing the interests of business and clients.

The meeting, open only to members of the Network, will focus on key areas for sector development including approaches to distribution, challenges and opportunities in agriculture and health insurance, adoption of new technologies to support scaling up of the sector, and creating the right regulatory environment for business proliferation and consumer protection.

“With microinsurance increasingly recognised as an effective disaster risk finance and development tool, we believe it is time to take a closer look at successes and failures of the sector and determine the strategic way forward for an optimal balance between business and client interests,” says Véronique Faber, executive director of the Microinsurance Network.
