Expressions of interest wanted for workshop on agricultural risk mitigation

The International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie) is calling on researchers and implementers to submit an expression of interest to participate in a workshop on agricultural risk mitigation, which will take place in Nairobi, Kenya on 19-20 April. It is aimed at matchmaking for possible partnerhips to submit a proposal for impact evaluation studies of innovative financial instruments to aid mitigate, transfer and/or reduce production risks for smallholder farmers in developing countries. These financial instruments include (but are not restricted to) bundled products that combine non-financial risk management products and services with a financial component. 

The workshop will also include a dialogue around 3ie's request for proposal document for the grant programme to be announced later this year, however attendance at the workshop is not compulsory for submitting a grant proposal.

The deadline for applying for the workshop is by end of day 23 February.

Additionally, 3ie is carrying out a survey for research purposes on the topic, to understand the opportuinities and challenges of agricultural risk-mitigating financial instruments.
