Global Insurance Consulting, together with ACTEX, has recently released a book "Actuaries in Microinsurance: Managing Risk for the Underserved", which aims to help develop the actuarial capacity in the microinsurance market, improve the relevance and sustainability of products, and ultimately assist individuals, families and community in escaping poverty. With microinsurance becoming a growing market with increasing need for actuarial knowledge, interest and expertise, this book mixes technical chapters and short anecdotes, covering a wide variety of directly-relevant topics for actuaries interested in microinsurance, and sharing first-hand accounts of what it is like to work in developing regions, respectively. Moreover, the book is of intrest to actuaries working in traditional markets, young actuaries living in developing regions and microinsurance specialists wishing to learn more about the actuarial aspects of the market.
